On September 10th from 11:00-3:00, the University Career Center will host the Virtual UCC Web Jamboree 2020 as part of Gold Rush. This is a free event the Career Center hosts to kick off the new academic year, and will be partnering with the University Center for Academic Excellence, Office of Education Abroad, Student Involvement, Office of Identity, Equity, and Engagement, and Office of Undergraduate Research.
All students will be able to participate in this virtual event and must register to have access at WebJam2020. The reason is so you can participate in the many booths at the event, and you will have a chance to win a $50 gift card at each booth you attend! There is over $1000 in gift card giveaways! The booths will have our Career Center and partnering department staffs on hand to talk with students about services, job & internship search, exploring majors, resume content, and how to get involved on campus to start building your brand. The Career Center will emphasize fun and connection through WebJam 2020. Within each booth, there services information and some will have games & activities, a Virtual Escape Room, social media competitions, and students can connect with campus partners in an informal way.

Important Information
You MUST register at WebJam2020 to attend the event, by visiting the booths, for chances to win the gift cards. There are over $1000 in gift card giveaways, at least 1 chance at everyone booth and social media contests.
This fair is hosted on an external platform; participation in the event is optional; candidates are encouraged to use best internet security practices, such as setting a unique, secure password.

Q) What is a virtual career fair or event?
A) A virtual career fair or event attempts to replicate the in-person fair experience into an online format. Each virtual "booth" will have staff members managing the booth with links, videos, social media, logos, and Hire-A-Niner informaiton. Students can view attend each booth, learn more by viewing the information shared, and chat with staff memebers (via video or text-based chat), and some booths have extra games/activities for additional chances to win a more gift cards.
Q) Do I need to register for the event?
A) Yes, you will need to register for the WebJam event. You will make an account where you can upload your resume (not required for this event), submit profile information, and a photo and see the events you registered to attend.
Q) Do I need to dress up for the event?
A) This is a department event hosted during Gold Rush, so casual clothing is just fine. We want you to learn about services and just have some fun!
